Toyota Camry Key Fob Battery & Sync – Dacula, GA
A Toyota Camry owner in Dacula, GA noticed his key fob was not responding reliably. Sometimes the doors would not lock or unlock from a distance, and the remote start had stopped working entirely.
Intermittent key fob issues are often caused by a weak battery, but they can also indicate a sync problem between the fob and the vehicle. Our first step was to replace the CR2032 battery and test the range — which improved but did not fully resolve the issue.
We then performed a full resync of the key fob to the Toyota Camry using the proper programming sequence. After the resync, all functions — lock, unlock, trunk release, and remote start — worked reliably from full range.
Key fob batteries should be replaced every 1–2 years depending on usage. If your fob starts requiring multiple button presses or only works at close range, it is time for a new battery or a resync.
